We do not know really know what causes cancer. What we do know is that cancer is the transformation of white blood cells. We can pin-point some of the things that cause, such as smoking, cars, pollution can mutate the things we eat (fast food). Say that we are not even sure that these factors can also mutate into a type of white blood cells.

This is only one way:
Stomach cancer by about 2% (25,500) cases of all new cancer cases per year in the United States, but is much more common in Japan, Britain, South America and Iceland. It is with salt intake, smoking and associated low intake of fruit and vegetables. Infection with H. pylori is the most important risk factor in about 80% or more cases of gastric cancer. It is more common in men.

Everything I read that a diet high in salt (ham) can dried beef stomach cancer. Cancer is the most common, but most lethal. A healthy diet rich in fiber is always a good idea. As with pre-cancerous lesions, I do not know.
